She Pretended To Be On A Phone Call But She Was Really Using Her Dogs’ Favorite Words

One of the most rewarding parts of being a pet parent is being able to communicate effectively with your dog. The average dog can understand up to 250 human words, and accomplishing even a handful of words is an amazing feat.

Pat yourself on the back if you and your dog are in sync! This woman has certainly done so, so much so that she had decided to do a little experiment with her two dogs, Hazel and Motley.

The goal was to find out just how many words the pair would recognize even if she wasn’t talking directly to them. She decided to set the plan in motion while the two dogs lounged nearby. She had pretended she was having a phone conversation with a friend or so. Whatever she was going to talk about would include all their favorite words. Once she began, all that was left to see was if the two would actually realize what was happening and more importantly, recognize those words.

This is the actual video recording of what had happened: At first, they didn’t seem to be listening to her conversation directly, but soon, their ears perked up and Hazel and Motley seemed very interested in what their mom had to say. According to their mom, there were “Head tilts for days!” The experiment was a success. The dogs would recognize their favorite words no matter what.
