One morning in January, a staff member of Louisiana SPCA arrived at work and found a dog named Cow tied up to a fence outside. When he was taken in by the shelter, the dog was scared and didn’t understand what was happening.
“When he was given treats and people would ‘baby talk’
Over time, Cow adjusted to his new reality and became comfortable living at the shelter. Two months after he arrived at the shelter, the staff members started making arrangements to find him a new family. They succeeded, but it wasn’t just any family they found; they found his lost family!
The shelter discovered that Cow had a family who had been looking for him. Someone had stolen him from his family and dumped him at the shelter for unknown reasons.
Although Cow had already accepted his new life at the shelter, he was thrilled to see his mom again. “He was jumping off the walls and his tail was wagging like we’d never seen it before! You could tell from his reaction when he saw his mom that he was reunited with his family!” Lewis said.
Cow has now settled back in with his family, where he belongs after months apart. The dog is doing pretty well, and his family is glad to have him back.
