Shelter Pup Holds Her Mom's Hand During Car Ride Home

When Regan the pup’s parent passed away, she found herself alone in a big, scary world. Luckily, the Goofy Foot Dog Rescue of Tennessee had a free spot for her in their shelter, and they happily took her in.

But Regan was nervous about shelter life and the environment frightened her terrible, so the organization’s founder, Mozena Rezac, decided to bring her back to her home temporarily as the shelter worked to find her a proper temporary or forever home.

The moment Regan stepped out of the shelter and into Mozena’s car, an immediate change was obvious. She went from being nervous and jittery to happily at peace with someone she now considered familiar, instead of the unknown hands of shelter staff and volunteers.

To express her gratitude, Regan insisted on holding hands with Mozena during the whole car ride home and refused to let go – or even allow Mozena to let go! The adorable gesture showed how thankful Regan was to be around someone she knew she could trust and be ushered back into the familiar environment of home life.

Regan now lives happily in a foster home with two loving parents, and they plan to adopt her officially if possible. Now that’s a happy ending if I’ve ever seen one!
