There’s something about petting a loving pup that is just so relaxing, calming, and uplifting. Lily the golden retriever is one such loving fur ball.
When her Mommy Peggy Pisano noticed her charm and adoration of others while the pup received pets and hugs from kids on a soccer field, she had an amazing idea. Pisano is the director of victim services at the Rape Crisis Center of Milford in Connecticut, and as soon as she realized how amazingly compassionate her pup was, she decided to make her the center’s first ever therapy dog. Her team absolutely loved the idea.
After Lily the pup successfully completed six months of tests and training, she successfully became the first certified therapy dog working in sexual assault victims services in Connecticut. Incredible! What a wonderful fur ball! It looks like this pup has found her calling. She’s perfect for the job, and she’s been giving hope and raising spirits ever since. Good girl, Lily!
