Special Needs Pup Regains Faith In The Arms Of Her Foster Family

Faith is a special needs dog who was left on the doorstep of a veterinarian’s house one day, curled inside a cardboard box. Noting the permanent squint on the pup’s wrinkled forehead, the vet immediately knew Faith was special.

Immediately, the vet contacted the Dogs and Cats local rescue group in Antigua, who gave Faith her name and took her in as their new stray. At that time, apart from not having eyes, Faith was in bad shape due to malnutrition.

In Antigua, dogs with special needs are normally put down due to lack of funds to provide ample care and adoption for these dogs is rare. Dogs and Cats of Antigua knew they could provide Faith a better life so they decided to foster her, have her visit the vet regularly, and obtained government permission to allow Faith to fly out sooner so she can receive proper treatment in the US.

According to Faith’s foster mom, Venezia, the pup surprised her with her ability to navigate through her home. Faith sniffed and bumped her way through, and when she hits a block, Faith readily recovers and picks up where she left off. With her nose and ears, Faith is able to detect her foster mom’s location and easily slides into her lap – apparently her favored spot.

Venezia confides that the special needs pup loves people and always seeks her company, easily sensing when she’s near. Faith usually lifts his nose and sniffs the air to locate her mom.
