After Spotting Your Pup's Urine, Here's How You Can Effectively Clean It Up!

A carpeted floor is great, but when you add a pup to the equation, things can go south.

A fur ball who has yet to be house trained or who has certain health problems may have an accident on the carpet, and you’ll have to clean it up. Here’s how!

For a new urine spot in the carpet that is still wet, use paper towels or a bath towel to mop up the mess. Cover the area with these materials and stand on them to put your weight on them, then move around slowly. Do this again with new towels until they no longer soak up any urine.

Now, use clean water to wash the spot thoroughly, then use towels the same way you did earlier to dry the carpet. Products like a wet vacuum can be of great use here. Once you’re done, use a pet odor neutralizer to get rid of any lingering smells!

What about an old urine spot that’s stained, even after your vigorous attempts to clean it with chemicals and cleaners? First, you have to get rid of the previous cleaners with a wet vacuum or an extractor filled with clean water.

Once that’s done, you’ll need to use an enzymatic pet odor neutralizing product in order to remove stink. Try it out somewhere hidden on the carpet first, though, to make sure it doesn’t cause discoloration! Once the scent is out, if a stain remains, then a carpet stain remover of good quality will work fine.
