Maui the therapy pup has been visiting the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center to keep the residents company every Friday. She often spends time in the rooms of the residents in this nursing home in Westborough, Massachusetts, or out in the common area, and they love her for it!
Last weeked, the director of the home, Nicole Croteau, found out that Maui’s birthday was fast approaching. She gathered the residents with the news and told them she wanted to buy the pup a cupcake, but other residents and staff threw in their own ideas and soon, they were planning an entire party!
That Friday, Maui showed up to her job to find everyone waiting eagerly for her in the recreation room. All the residents and staff were fathered and presented her with a beautiful birthday crown and mini tutu for her to wear, as well as presents like toys and a hairbrush! Dressed to the nines, the pup looked adorable and just wouldn’t stop smiling!
Meanwhile, the humans in attendance enjoyed some yummy cake and Maui had her own treats. There was one resident, a man with dementia, who was particularly touched by the spectacle and was thoroughly enjoying himself and lavishing attention on Maui! Maui has done so much good for these residents.
It’s no surprise that they wanted to do something special for her in return! Happy birthday, Maui!
