For any parent of a human baby, we know the work doesn’t end after pregnancy. In fact, many experts consider the first six months to a year of a baby’s life their fourth trimester because of how much development they are still undergoing!
Thankfully, pups are much easier in that regard. Like just about any other animal, pups are able to run, jump, and explore just weeks after birth. At about 7-8 weeks, they can already be weaned from their mother! Sadly, this does mean that you will want to keep a close eye on your newborn pups – blink, and the next thing you know they are bouncing everywhere!
Luckily, this parent is keeping a close eye on their litter of puppies. Recording with a phone camera for memories, they are overseeing a litter of Dachshund pups eat solid food for the first time! Isn’t it crazy how small they are right now? They can fit into their food bowls!
