These days, people often see Dachshunds as just really adorable, small pups that are incredibly popular. Although small, these pups weren’t always lapdogs – they were once working pups!
Did you know, for example, that these pups were originally bred to burrow and chase down rodents in tunnels under the earth?
Many Moms and Dads with gardens will know that this is a genetic memory that hasn’t been quite completely bred out of these pups just yet. Their gardens full of holes are a testament to that! And they start burrowing at an incredibly young age too, as evidenced by these puppies digging away into the soil.
It is clear these cute puppies are having an absolute blast burrowing themselves into the ground. They just can’t get any happier at this point, and won’t even spare Dad more than a few seconds of attention before getting back to work! Gotta get that tunnel done soon, you see?
