Kind Kids Read Stories To English Bulldog And Other Shelter Dogs To Bring Cheer To All!

This past December, kids took part in a reading event at the Humane Society of Missouri. They read stories to the shelter pets there, made greeting cards for adoptable animals’ kennels, and sipped on hot chocolate and munched on some cookies.

This reading event was part of The Shelter Buddies Reading Program which was founded to help the shelter dogs become more adoptable, while helping the children practice their reading skills.

The kids sit outside of the kennels and read to them, which helps shy and nervous dogs to relax around people and also helps kids gain confidence in the reading abilities.
