There is no way around it – pups are carnivores. They require meat to survive and properly thrive – there are essential nutrients and vitamins that pups can only derive from meat. However, they can eat vegetables and fruits, so it is perfectly fine to give these things as a snack! In fact, some pups may enjoy them as treats!

This beautiful Golden Retriever pup is one such pup. Although he is well taken care of by his parents in his home in Liaoning province, China, he still loves getting vegetables whenever he can! In this video, you can watch him munching on a selection of the green stuff – a green pepper, a head of Chinese cabbage, and even a head of broccoli!

Before giving anything to your pup to eat, always make sure that it is safe for them to consume. Some plants, such as anything in the onion family, can be fatal to pups.
