High five, is a gesture that has a variety of meanings. The origin of the high five is unclear, but the two figures who have been seen doing it are from 1977.

They were both Los Angeles Dodgers players (Dusty Baker and Glenn Burke) who would high five each other during games. Many believe that they were the first two to do the gesture at the end of the season. Wiley Brown and Derek Smith (from the Louisville Cardinals college basketball team) picked it up during the ’78-’79 season.

The phrase “high five” was entered into the Oxford English Dictionary, according to Wikipedia, in 1980. Nowadays, just about everyone does it to celebrate a good play or an astonishing accomplishment. The black lab in this video is doing the trick with his human for treats! The dog not only gives a high five but does also gives ten! Two paws up!
