Introducing a new dog or cat to a household can be tricky – especially if you already have dog or cat in residence. Cats are finicky and may not accept a new ‘friend’ for some time.
But, eventually, the new sibling will (hopefully) be accepted – or at least not tormented daily! If you have a dog and want to get another one, you may be able to take your dog to a shelter and introduce him or her to potential applicants for their new brother or sister.
Some parents just find another dog and bring them home. In this video, dad brings home a puppy in a box. The Golden Retriever gets to ‘open’ the box and meet his new sibling. The older dog seems quite happy with the arrangement. The puppy is a little overwhelmed – at first! Once the puppy settles in things will change!
