Playing tug of war with your dog can be fun – and dangerous! You can be smart about how you play to prevent your dog from becoming too aggressive.

First, be sure you start the game, not your dog. Second, you should be in control and only play if you can get your dog to let go of the toy every once and awhile. The game should stop if your dog ever puts his/her teeth on you or if the dog pulls before commanded to pull.
