Medically speaking, us humans as a species require only 8 hours of sleep. Of course, in practice the actual number of hours we sleep varies wildly. Some people naturally operate on 6 hours with no problems, while others will need 10 hours of sleep or more before they feel like anything other than a zombie.
Understandably, pups feel this way too! The average pup is expected to sleep about 12 to 14 hours a day, but the exact amount varies based on breed, size, and individual needs. There is also the fact that some pups just really enjoy sleeping, like their human parents! And really, if they want to, why not? Let sleeping pups lie.
It is a lazy Sunday morning for this household, and Leo the Beagle pup is dozing off quietly on a chair in the kitchen. It is adorable to watch this pup slowly nod off in his chair – hopefully he won’t fall off his seat while falling asleep!
