Have you ever wondered where pup breeds like Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever got the word “retriever” in their name from, and why? If you haven’t learned about it yet, it is time for a quick explanation – these pups hail from a working breed that was originally meant to retrieve waterfowl!
You would assume then, that Golden Retriever Pups like Simcoe would be naturally very good at grabbing and bringing back whatever you throw at them, right? Well, yes, but not without some training – and especially not if there is a snack at stake!
As soon as the biscuit within sight, Simcoe starts barking for it. He really wants to eat it! But he is a little too old and too experienced to start jumping around for it – Dad will throw it for him eventually. He just has to be patient, and he knows it. True enough, Dad tosses it into the air just a moment later!
