Wolves howl and domesticated dogs are all descendants of wolves, so dogs howl. For wolves, howling is a form of communication.
Howls in the woods can travel several miles and be heard by members of the pack who are lost. Our not-so-wild dogs howl because – well, it is a part of them. They may hear a siren and howl; sometimes certain sounds or musical instruments can make a dog howl. The dachshund puppy in this video has decided to howl.
Why? Well, because her older brother has stopped playing with her! So, as a way to help him get excited and play with her again, she howls at him! She also tries to bite his feet! To see if her howling gets her big brother to play with her again, you will have to watch! But, since the video only lasts 32 seconds, chances are slim we will ever find out!
