When Beanie the Chihuahua was 2 years old, she entered a brand new home. She had been rescued from a situation involving pretty bad hoarding and was very frightened and attention-starved.
Her new Mom, Amina Akhtar, showed her love and kindness. Now, nearly six years later, the pup is full of life and seems like a completely different dog!
She has a spunky personality and likes making silly faces, and she’s usually very quiet and sweet. Unless the postman is around – then she’s barking excitedly! She also loves food and belly rubs, and she’ll give anyone kisses until she gets what she wants.
Beanie first moved into her Mom’s house in New York City, but the pair has since moved to Sedona, Arizona so her Mom can be closer to her father.
There’s a lot of potentially dangerous wildlife in the area, including lions, javelinas, bobcats, and coyotes. As such, Beanie’s Mom has to be very careful about keeping her safe – especially after the tiny pup wound up very close to a coyote once!
Akhtar does her best to keep her eyes glued to Beanie every time they’re outdoors, but for added peace of mind, she still wanted to find a way to provide Beanie with extra protection, especially against the abundance of coyotes in the area. So she bought the pup a hilarious-looking coyote vest!
The vest, which is bright pink and covered in long, ridiculous spikes, looks completely comedic on Beanie, and a shared picture of the pup wearing it went viral for its adorable silliness. It may not be the most fashionable, but it keeps Beanie safe – and really, that’s what matters most.
