Socialization is something that is very important for pups. After all, they are incredibly young and new to the world. Just like how school is to prepare us and equip us with the tools we will need to be independent, socialization introduces pups to a variety of people, pups, and scenarios so that they learn how to react appropriately.
Since all pups are individuals, however, not all pups will have the same needs! Some pups, for example, are initially deathly scared of big bodies of water. This can even apply to breeds who were bred to be water pups! Luckily for this family, Coco the Dachshund has absolutely no problems with the lake!
Although this is the first time she has ever gone swimming, she takes to the water with great enthusiasm. She doesn’t simply wade in after her Dad, but leaps in full body into the water! It looks like she was born to be a great swimmer from the start!
