Do your dogs move around in their sleep? Maybe you have a dog who growls, or yips softly, or whines? Maybe your pup moves their legs, or wags their tail? Whatever they do, it sure is entertaining and adorable to watch their naptime motions!
Oliver the beagle pup does similar things. His parents think he must be dreaming! He’ll bark in his sleep and shuffle around a little, probably having fun in Dreamland as he plays with his pup friends, runs around chasing toys, or enjoys the company of his Mom and Dad.
So why exactly do dogs bark when they sleep, sometimes? According to science, it’s exactly what Oliver’s parents reckon – they’re dreaming!
Although pups can have good dreams and nightmares, the best option is usually to allow their dreams to finish on their own without waking them up. Being suddenly jostled awake can be more scary for them than completing the dream! So the next time you see your pup barking in their sleep, just sit back and watch them and enjoy the cuteness!
