Mother Nature is mysterious and continues to show us how it is done! A newborn leopard cub had to be separated from its mother at Sadgorod Zoo in Vladivostok because of safety concerns.
The keepers reported that the mother leopard has been known to treat her cubs poorly and so the decision to remove the cub from her was made. Without milk, the newborn’s life was at risk. So, the keepers at the zoo decided to see if a golden retriever named Tessy would be willing to step in and be its wet nurse!
The answer is a resounding – yes! Tessy stepped in and offered the newborn cub a meal and a bath! At least that is what we see in the video. There is probably a lot more behind the scenes we didn’t get to see! Viktor Agafonov, the zoo veterinarian, said the cub is gaining weight and is very active!
