One of the best (and most delicious) ways of beating the summer heat is to enjoy some ice cream! Have you ever considered that your four-legged friend may also enjoy a cool treat?

The Golden Retriever in the video below is named Apapat – and yes! He loves to have an ice cream. You should be aware that while ice cream is delicious, some dogs may have lactose intolerance, and they could end up with constipation, gas, or bloating.

Dogs also shouldn’t eat ice cream in excess, because the sugar content is high and they may gain weight. Sounds like ice cream is to be enjoyed in moderation – just like it is for us! If you do decide to give your pup a frozen treat, please do not ever give your dog chocolate ice cream – chocolate can be toxic! Hmm, do dogs get brain freeze too?!
