As you get older, you give yourself brief exams to look for anything out of the ordinary. How often do you think about your dog’s health – especially their foot health? Did you know that a good rule of thumb for walking your dog outside in the summer is to touch the pavement with the back of your hand?
If you can’t hold your hand there (on the hot pavement) for more than a few seconds, then you shouldn’t let your dog walk on it. If the pavement is too hot, it can actually cause burns to their feet.
