When training your dog, it is important to be consistent and be patient (that goes for training and raising children too)! Some dogs are motivated by food, and you can give them a small treat as a reward.
One question about too many treats is that your fur baby may develop weight problems. Other dogs respond well to a lot of praise. You can train your dog to respond to voice commands, clicker training, or even hand signals! You may have seen some of the amazing things people have trained their dogs to do – like say a prayer before a meal, go out and get the mail, or bring in the morning paper (if you still get one of those in your area).
The video below features a well-trained black Labrador. You will be impressed to learn that this dog is only three months old! So, this proves it is never too early to start training your dog!
