There’s nothing like a dog to get you through a rough patch. One woman named Carol Gardner knows this very well. At 52 years old, having just gone through a divorce her friend told her she either needed to get a therapist or a dog. She opted for a beautiful English bulldog named Zelda.
The tough part was money was already tight and now feeding the hungry Zelda was another strain on Carol’s already tight budget. She heard a local pet store was having a greeting card contest and the grand prize was a year’s worth of dog food. She couldn’t resist.
She submitted a photo of Zelda in a Santa hat with a bubble bath beard and the caption read, “I got a dog for my husband. Good trade, huh?”
