It’s not always easy for soldiers to say goodbye to their army brothers, but for one man, parting ways with his combat canine was one of the most difficult things he’d had to do.
Army Specialist Vance McFarland spent nearly three years trying to reunite with his four-legged partner who served with him in Afghanistan.
Ikar, a tactical explosive detection dog, worked alongside McFarland and his team to locate roadside bombs during their deployment.
When he returned home to the states, things didn’t exactly go as planned and Ikar ended up without a home – that is, until Vance caught wind of it!
