The beauty of cooking your own meals at home is that not only do you get to save on costs, but you also really get to know your food while you do so. As a result, you can derive a sense of satisfaction from what you have done – not to mention that it means you can dedicate odds and ends like bones and such to make bone stock!
Alternatively, instead of making homemade stock, you can use it as a reward for your pup instead! This Dad has a spare raw bone for his German Shepherd pup, and gives the pup a bone as a treat. Instead of gnawing and eating the bone, however, this pup is driven by instinct to bury it instead!
When giving your pups a bone, make sure that it is a big, thick bone. Fragile and thinner bones like chicken bones are likely to break and splinter, and you may end up with the bits stuck in your pup’s gums or throat.
