This is an incredibly moving reunion between a man and his dog and it all happened thanks to a microchip.
Dora the German shepherd dog was microchipped and that little chip is ultimately what helped her get reunited with her family. It all started on the 4th of July in Fresno, TX. Dora got scared by some fireworks and she jumped the fence. This isn’t uncommon. A lot of dogs get lost on the 4th of July in the United States because they slip their collars or jump their backyard fences when they hear the booming of fireworks.
The family searched and searched for her, but as the months went by, they still couldn’t find her.
That is, until 7 months later (almost to the day) when the family got a call from Collin County Animal Services. They had just scanned the microchip of a dog they picked up in McKinney, TX. As luck would have it, this scared and tired dog was Dora!
The family was elated to hear Dora had been found! When they went to pick her up, the reunion is just incredible!
