On Christmas Eve, many families will leave some milk and cookies out for Santa. But what about the reindeer? To prevent them from feeling jilted or left out, we may also leave some carrots for them!
They work just as hard as Santa does on Christmas – they should get something for their efforts! As many athletes will tell you pre-event nutrition is just as important as getting good nutrition during the event. In this video, we have a reindeer in training getting ready for the ‘big night’.
This trainee is a dachshund, but that is not going to stop him from being ready if Santa should call on him to help pull the sleigh! Carrots, raw or cooked, are a great low-calorie treat for your dog. You should make sure the pieces are bite-sized and do not leave your dog unattended while they are eating carrots (in case they run into trouble).
