Trying to rescue a drowning person can be an exhausting affair – not only do you need to have the energy and capability to keep yourself afloat, you would need to be able to carry someone else along with you.
That’s not an easy task for most people – which is why there are pups that have been bred to perform water rescues, like Newfoundlands!
Abby the Labrador Retriever isn’t a Newfoundland, but that doesn’t mean she still isn’t fully capable of performing a water rescue. Armed with nothing more than a life vest and some determination, this intrepid pup proves that she can haul 10 times her weight through the water!
Her Dad, who weighs 350 pounds, decides to demonstrate her strength and skill in this video. Granted, he makes it easier for her by deliberately floating himself limp so that she can easily drag him along, but that’s still no small feat!
