Dogs are smart enough to perceive images on the television screen just like we do. They recognize the animals on screen just like they would if they were real.
The improvements in technology have made it easier for dogs to watch and see the images on the screen. Did you know that a dog can process visual images faster than we can?! Older television showed fewer frames per second, and to a dog, the images would flicker, today’s televisions are much faster, and dogs see a clearer image.
Just like people, how they respond to the images on the screen depends on their personality. Some dogs will respond to the sounds of other dogs barking or doorbells they hear from the TV. Other dogs will bark or just watch the action unfold! Watch as the German Shepherd checks out puppies on TV!
