Does your dog dive headfirst into the floor and scoot along the floor with his face in the carpet? They twist and rub and may even grunt a little as they do it?

There could be a few reasons why they do that – one is that they have an itch on their snout and can’t get to it with their paws. Or, maybe they have an itchy eye, or there is something in their eye. They may also have a messy face and are just trying to get clean!

Some more serious reasons would be that they are uncomfortable or have a skin disorder or parasites. The important thing is to keep an eye on your dog to be sure they are not engaging in the behavior consistently.
