Yogi the golden retriever was awarded the Humane Society’s Valor Dog of the Year award for his bravery and heroism in 2010, but no one can forget what he did to deserve the award.
One morning in 2010, Paul Horton and his fur ball Yogi were biking in the trails near their home in Texas when suddenly Paul hit a bump and fell off his bike.
He woke up and saw himself coughing up blood. Yogi knew he had to help his dad immediately. Paul realized that he was paralyzed and if there was anyone who could help him, it was his golden retriever baby Yogi.
But Yogi already knew what to do so he dashed on the road and spotted some of his neighbors. He barked as loud as he could for their attention and led them straight to Paul, who lay bleeding on the ground. Watch the entire story on page 2 below.
