Freddie the 2-year-old Old English bulldog loves to chase cars. One night while Sandra Dezelan Axelband (his parent) was taking her bulldog for a walk, a pickup truck with an open metal trailer caught his eye.
“He’s deaf, so anytime he sees anything moving he goes after it,” Axelband explained to WPTV.
The bulldog pulled so hard on his leash and Axelband fell over. He then took off running down Acme Dairy Road in Boynton Beach, Florida. She hopped in the car to try to catch her dog.
“The back end of the car was fishtailing I was driving so fast,” Axelband said.
As fast as she drove, sadly, she didn’t catch up with Freddie. She’s put up flyers all over town and has now hired a private investigator to help find Freddie.
The investigator reports that the three most common breeds to go missing are French bulldogs, Yorkshire terriers, and Maltese – because people keep them. However, the investigator has the help of two specially trained dogs that are helping search for Freddie – a terrier mix and Brittany spaniel. The duo have been trained to track down Freddie after sniffing his blanket.
Freddie’s mom is offering a $1,500 reward for anyone who finds her beloved Freddie. If you think you may have seen him, call his mom at 954-588-7045.
