Woman Leaves Her Labrador Pup Outside In -20 Degree Weather, But See What A Stranger Did!

This poor Labrador pup had nothing to say when his owner left him tied outside in freezing -20 degree weather. If our fur balls could talk, maybe this wouldn’t have happened…

A lot of pet parents think that since our fur kids have thick coats that they can endure any kind of weather, no matter how cold it is. But truth be told, everything and everyone has a limit. If a pup is left outside in freezing temperatures they will get frostbite and while some get sick, others can lose their lives.

Thankfully for this fur ball, a kind stranger was at the right place at the right time. This pup’s owner went inside the post office and thus she left her pup tied outside without considering how cold it truly was – at -20 degrees F. As soon as the man saw the pup, he knelt beside him and placed him on his lap to give him some warmth! Take a look at the pictures on page 2 below!

The pup was very grateful for the stranger’s kindness because he saved the pup’s paws from frostbite. The man stayed like that until the pup’s owner returned and hopefully she learned a lesson and won’t ever leave her fur ball in such extreme temperatures ever again.

If you ever see an animal left out in the cold, you can help. Report them to authorities when you see any animal in a situation similar to this one. Sometimes it’s a neighbor leaving their dog in their backyard in below freezing temperatures or sometimes it’s dogs tied up like this one. Regardless, take note of date, time, location, and preferably photos and video if possible. You can also call the Humane Society of the United States on 866-720-2676 or 202-452-1100. They are available from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

If you ever come across a stray out in the cold and want to warm it up, be sure not to warm them too quickly. It’s best to wrap them in a blanket and warm their body temperature up slowly so as to prevent them from going into shock.

It’s so sad that this dog’s owner didn’t stop to think about how cold it was for this dog to be just shivering, waiting outside, but thank goodness for good dog-loving Samaritans like this man who intervened! Don’t forget to like and share this story with your friends too so they know what to do if they find a dog in a similar situation!
