If you have a dog, you are blessed. Did you teach your dog to sit or stay? How about to go get the mail or even a bottle of water from the fridge?
There are some things that our dog will do that we never taught them at all – it is as if they can read our minds!
1. Your dog knows when you are down in the dumps.
Our canine friends are perceptive and pick up on visual and auditory cues. They know what sadness and depression look and sound like. They can also detect the hormones associated with sadness.
2. They know when you are fighting with a spouse
Just like kids, dogs like happy people, not angry ones. Crossed arms, frowns, and elevated heart rates will let your dog know you aren’t happy.
3. Your intentions are known…
You think about going for a walk, and before you even take one step towards the leash, your dog is already excited and ready to go with you! How did they do that?! Your dog watches your eyes and evaluates your body language – that’s how!
4. They can tell when you are ill.
Your dog’s nose can detect the tiniest changes in your body chemistry. Plus, your behavior changes when you are sick too. You may stay home or lay in bed all day.
5. They can tell when you are smitten.
Those pesky chemicals again! Your body releases serotonin and dopamine when you are in love – and your dog can smell it radiating off your body!
