Katana, a Labrador mix, was one of the hundreds of dogs affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas. She was being cared for by Pups in Peril, located in Beaumont, Texas.
The shelter was crowded, and an Arizona-based volunteer group took her and 11 other dogs with them back to the Phoenix area to find them forever homes. Katana found a new family to take her home in Arizona, but sadly was returned to the same shelter, the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Center (MCACC) just two days later! Katana was labeled as “too difficult.”
When MCACC scanned Katana’s microchip, they discovered she was from Pups in Peril and reached out to them. Brian Morris, from “We Support Texas,” had befriended Katana when she was staying at Pups in Peril and he will be driving up to Arizona to bring Katana back to Texas!
