5 Surprising Tools You Need To Groom Your Dog At Home!

Grooming is a great way to bond with your pup while keeping them clean and healthy. But it can seem tedious and difficult at times, prompting you to opt for a groomer instead. Luckily, there are actually lots of items you have at home that you can use to groom your pup! Here are five special tools that groomers swear by that you have lying around your home.

1. Unscented baby wipes

These are gems in between baths! Too much washing can dry out a pup’s skin, so unscented baby wipes can be used to clean out dirt, wipe muddy paws, and clean the ears and around the eyes to keep your pup smelling good.

2. Olive oil or coconut oil

If your pup gets burrs stuck in their fur, these two types of oil rubbed onto the affected area of fur can help the burrs come straight out. Try not to just brush them out without these oils as it can be painful!

3. Corn starch

Before your brush your pup’s fur, sprinkle them with corn starch. This can work just as well as detangling sprays as it makes it easier to get rid of mats, and it also absorbs excess oil!

4. Treats

Of course, these go without saying. You should reward your pup with treats after each grooming session to help them look forward to them more.

5. Back massager

An inexpensive back massager can help a puppy to get used to the movement that will come from clippers – and for other grooming in general. Just run it all over your pup’s body!
