10 Dog Breeds Who Are Hard To Potty Train! (Part 2)

Not all dogs can be potty trained in the same way. While others learn quickly, others take an eternity, but let’s not forget that each dog is unique and while this list may mention your dog’s breed, we know your dog is a good boy or a good girl and that they know there’s a right time for everything!

Without further ado, here are some dog breeds that are hard to potty train! Here’s Part 1, in case you missed it!

1. Basset Hound

If you’ve ever had a basset hound before, you probably already know that they love to test your patience. You need to be the most patient dog parent on the planet to potty train this dog. According to experts, these dogs respond well to positive training tactics!

2. Pomeranian

These dogs are very smart and they know how to read a person well. If they think that you’re less important than them, they won’t listen to you! You need to show them that you’re the boss if you want to potty train these lively personalities!

3. English Bulldog

The classic lapdog, these dogs prefer not to move much and just stay where they are, for the most part! These dogs tend to not listen sometimes and are harder to potty train than a Golden Retriever!

4. Basenji

These dogs are smart and can learn so many commands at a time however, there’s a flip side to their smart personalities – their decision-making process! If they decide to do something, they’ll do it, if not, they won’t even bother listening to you! They think before they do things and if they don’t want to do it, it doesn’t matter what you do, everything depends on their liking!

5. Jack Russell Terrier

These dogs are smart and quite challenging to train! They love chewing things and running full-speed everywhere. This intelligent breed will find a loophole in every command. For example, if you tell them to pee outside, they will step out of the door and pee right there, because technically, it’s outside!
