10 Stress-Free Tips For Traveling With Your Dogs (Part 1)

If you’re mostly on the road and want to take your dog traveling with you, I’m sure you’re looking for ways to make it stress-free! While you’ll agree that traveling is never completely stress-free, there are things you can do to make the trip a little less stressful!

1. Before the trip, take your dogs out for a long walk

You want to make sure that your dog has spent all his excess energy before getting inside the car with you. If your dog has excess energy that’s bursting to be released, a car ride will only stress them out, leaving them anxious.

2. Strap your dog, always

Safety always comes first so always remember to strap your dog, in case of an accident. Remember to not attach the seat belt tether to your dog’s collar.

3. Remember to take your dog’s favorite toys along

A dog can get bored if the only thing he has to do is sit and watch things go by. A few favorite toys will keep him occupied and help him focus when you require it most.

4. Bring something that calms him down

If your dog is prone to stress and anxiety, you’ll want to pack some calming aids to help him calm down. Please speak to your vet and ask them to prescribe some calming aids for your dog. Do not give your dog any medication without consulting your vet first.

5. Instead of taking water, take ice cubes

If you don’t want your dog to create a mess in the car or drink too much, your best bet is to get some ice cubes that you use to hydrate your dog. Ice cubes can also keep nausea away!
