As a dog parent, you dream of working from home so you can cuddle your dog all day long while you earn. Having said that, working from home during self-isolation can come with its own set of challenges.
If you’re working from home for a couple of days and return back to work, your dog won’t be confused, but since we’re in the middle of a pandemic, COVID19, chances are, seeing you at home all day has left your dog confused. Of course, they’re happy, but they have to adjust to the new way of living for an unknown period of time. If you’re losing your mind staying home, imagine how they feel! Here are some ways to survive self-isolation with your dog!
1. Routine & Consistency
When you work from home, chances are that sometimes you are tempted to play by the ear, but for the sake of your dog, maintain a routine and stick to it! Feed them at the same time, schedule potty breaks, take 15-20 minutes of your day to play with them. Remember that dogs thrive on routine and consistency.
2. Don’t Overfeed Them
When working from home, it’s easy to overfeed your dog, but for the sake of your dog’s health, remember to never overfeed them. According to many experts, obesity is the root cause of many other health problems, including arthritis, diabetes, urinary incontinence, respiratory disease, and cardiovascular problems. If you want to keep your dog healthy, never overfeed them.
3. Exercise
If you can go out during this time, make sure to take your dog out for a walk so they get some form of exercise.
