Our dogs need walks, yes – but it can be such a tedious and repetitive thing to do on a daily basis. Just how can we keep ourselves motivated?
1. Make It An Adventure!
Try going to new places – even if it means you need to drive someplace else! It’s usually worth the travel time, and a new location will always refresh the senses.
2. Bring Someone Along
It’s always a lot more fun with friends and family, and it serves as a great way to keep up with them. Plus, your dog will likely appreciate the extra company too.
3. Remember That This Is Important For Them
Your dog doesn’t get a lot of opportunities to go out and stretch their legs in the sunshine. At the end of the day, you’re doing this for them as a part of your duty to them.
4. It’s Good Exercise
We all need a little more exercise, and you really out to think of walking your dog as an exercise obligation you can’t skip out on. Having your dog begging you at the front door is a pretty good source of motivation!
5. Do Other Things While Walking
Don’t just walk around the neighborhood and then head straight home. Practice some training, or play some games while you’re out and about. Take advantage of the fresh air and sunshine!
