Dogs are man’s best friend, but can the same notion be applied to kids? As it turns out, yes! Dogs are good for everyone! Science agrees that dogs are in fact good for children, and we agree too.
They’re fun to be around, they make lives more interesting and they are providers of endless and unconditional love. Here are a few more reasons why every child should grow up with a dog Here’s Part 1, in case you missed it!
1. Help Families Bond
Dogs help children bond with their parents by allowing them to come together in activities that concern their dog… for example walks, games, training, exercise… Dogs help families bond.
2. Help Prevent Stress
Dog parents from all over the world can guarantee that life before dogs was stressful and that as soon as their dog walked into their lives, they helped prevent stress! When you cuddle dogs, your brain releases the happy hormone called oxytocin that helps prevent stress! Dogs are perfect at comforting kids!
3. Help Kids Learn Responsibility
Kids learn how to be responsible if they have dogs that they’re growing up with. If you task your child for making sure the dog has clean water, food and exercise, your child learns what it is like to be responsible for another soul at home. While it’s not a good idea to let your child be solely responsible for your dog’s needs, having them help with some duties will help them become responsible humans.
