Being a dog lover is fun, no doubt, but being a dog parent is a different ball game altogether. As a dog lover, you enjoy spending quality time with dogs, but don’t have to deal with picking up poop or brushing them, or taking their overall responsibility. So what happens when you become a dog parent?
More than half the world can be dog lovers, but not everyone can become a dog parent. Of course, people who have never parented dogs will disagree, but wait till I tell you how things change.
1. Sleep
As a dog lover, you get to sleep whenever you want and enjoy uninterrupted sleep. Apart from your alarm, nothing wakes you up. Life is smooth, but when you become a dog parent, uninterrupted sleep becomes a distant dream. Your dog wakes you up… whenever THEY want.
2. Bed custody
As a dog lover, you have full custody over your bed. You can spread yourself as much as you want and you’ll knock over nothing. You can roll around, and sleep in any direction you want. After all, it’s your bed and yours alone, but when you become a dog parent, things change. You share custody of your bed and the shares look like this: you own 20% of your bed. Your dog owns your bed, your couch and basically everything else. You won’t have enough space to sleep because your dog is probably stretched beyond your imagination.
3. Love
As a dog lover, you love all dogs equally, all are great, all are awesome, but when you become a dog parent, things change. Your dog is the bestest good boy on the planet and that they can do nothing wrong. Ever. That poop in the backyard? The neighbour’s dog is responsible for that. Because your dog is the greatest dog who ever dogged the planet.
