Amid the Pandemic A Neighborhood Dog Gets A Sign To Encourage More People To Interact With Her

Potato is a Corgi who is cherished for her outstanding social skills. One of her parents, Cee, likened her personality to the friendliness of a door greeter at a grocery store.

At six months Potato enjoyed spending her days in the front yard where she would wait for people to pass by and give her a little pet. Now with a worldwide pandemic, passers-by became hesitant to pet her fearing they may be breaching her safety.

The sudden change didn’t sit well with Potato and her mood began to slump, so much so, that she would start barking at people who had previously pet her. Fortunately, Potato’s parents devised a plan to let everyone know that it was fine to show her affection.

They crafted an intro sign that was friendly and assuring which hung on the fence outside their house. It was only a matter of taking note of the sign that neighbors came in numbers to rekindle their friendship with the lovable pup. Cee, noted that many people in the neighborhood started going on walks to combat the mundanity of the lockdowns, and seeing Potato would be a highlight.

Mentioned on the sign is Potato’s social media account which has garnered her fans beyond her quaint neighborhood. Her frequent trips to the fence are taken as an act of fan service to all that admire her. On some days she’ll find a line of people standing six feet apart waiting to get their turn to interact with her and on other days she’ll be called for.

Her contagious excitement and wonderful personality are just hard to resist.
