Most labs are just born to swim – they love it even as little puppies but not all are born with a natural inclination. On the contrary, I’ve met several labs that run and hide when they see water or hear the words “bath time!”

This little yellow lab puppy seems ready to learn though. The mama lab is an expert swimmer already, getting in and out of the pool with ease, retrieving a ball from the water, and otherwise having a great time! Her little puppy is tagging along today, trying to keep up and learn what it means to be a water-loving lab.

The little pup does a great job too! You can see him hanging out by the edge at times, but he’s a brave pup and does a great job of paddling after mom and swimming around in the pool.

It looks like he’s another natural like his mama!
