Chesney, a blind and deaf dog known as Chez to his family, sent his family into a panic when he managed to escape the yard when he was let out to use the bathroom.
He’d been a part of the Stairs family for 14 years, so the entire family was worried sick, especially due to his disabilities. The family did their best to search their entire neighborhood, looking up and down and in every nook and cranny they could think of. As the night got darker, their search efforts were hampered by a lack of visibility.
The next morning, the Stairs asked for assistance from their neighbors, and they asked the community to help put together a search party for Chez. Soon, dozens of people were combing the streets for the lost dog, including one person who used a drone to look for the dog from above.
After three days, the Stairs were starting to lose hope. But that’s when they received a phone call. Chez had been located, and he’d been rushed to an animal clinic nearby. The Stairs hurried over and were relieved to see Chez frightened but in one piece. He had a mild fever and weakness, but nothing more, and vets gave him some antibiotics to help.
Now, Chez is recovering at home and receiving all the care he needs. He’ll be back to tip top shape in no time!
