If you buy food for your pup from the Blue Buffalo brand, then please read the following information as it could be important to your pup’s health!
Blue Buffalo sent out a recall for one of its canned food products due the possibility of too-high levels of beef thyroid hormones within the food. This occurred after the FDA contacted the company due to a report from a dog parent who said their pup had fallen ill after eating the food.
Consuming high levels of beef thyroid can cause a pup to become more thirsty, lose weight, and urinate more frequently. In more severe cases of exposure, it can also cause breathing difficulty, diarrhea, and vomiting. Luckily, in most cases, the symptoms disappear after the food leaves the system.
The product involved is the Blue Wilderness Rocky Mountain Recipe Red Meat Dinner Wet Food for adult dogs with a best by date of June 7, 2019.
No further reports have been received regarding this food, and the pup originally affected by it has since recovered easily. However, if your pup experiences symptoms, please do not feed this food to them and take them to the vet! Do share this so other pup parents can see it!
