Brave Labrador Pup Passes Away After Saving Seven Lives

This labrador pup is a hero. Meet Dayko, a brave pup who saved seven survivors who were trapped under the rubble of a massive, 7.8 magnitude earthquake that devastated the city of Pedarnales in Ecuador last week.

Named Dayko, this pup has been a member of the Ibarra Fire service for over three years. The brave pup was able to save seven lives before succumbing to the fatigue and heatstroke. “This four legged friend gave his life in the line of duty,” a local source quoted a representative as saying. “Thank you Dayko for your heroic efforts in Pedernales and in various emergencies where you were present. You held high the name of the K9 unit.”

Dayko was just 4 years old, but what he managed to do, no one can ever forget. According to the fire service, he collapsed during search operations and passed away from massive coronary myocardial infarction and acute respiratory failure.
