Deaf Couple Adopts Abandoned Deaf Dog

Alice was only eight weeks old when she ended up at the Blue Cross Animal Charity in Oxfordshire. An Ireland-based breeder abandoned the pup after discovering that she was deaf.

The Blue Cross Animal Charity was concerned about Alice because finding someone to adopt her would be difficult due to her hearing disability. Being deaf meant Alice could not respond when somebody gave her a verbal command. Fortunately, she had a guardian angel, even though she didn't know it.

Marie Williams and Mark Morgan wanted nothing more than to give Alice a forever home to thrive after seeing her on the charity's website. The couple understood Alice because they were also deaf.

"She was so beautiful and the fact that she was deaf just made us fall in love with her even more – we knew that she would fit right into our family." Marie told the Gazette Standard. Soon after the couple adopted Alice, they started teaching her sign language. Interestingly, Alice was a fast learner, and in no time, she understood basic commands, such as sit down, sit up, roll over, and recall.

Marie can't help but wonder why somebody would have abandoned Alice when she is an adorable good girl. She said Alice is "so special" to her family and wants the world to know how well they have bonded with her.
